This assessment was developed out of necessity to help in the decision-making process for adults with Intellectual and Development Disabilities, Autism, and related dual-diagnosed individuals to access the community independently. This assessment with its high preliminary reliability and validity can be used to help assess risk and develop programming around community access. CARE assesses 6 domains of risk: Financial Risk, Location Access, Maladaptive Behaviors, Social Problem-Solving, Functional Communication, and Time Management. The scores are automatically calculated using the Excel scoring sheet and a range of guidance can help clinicians and interdisciplinary teams with evidence-based decision-making. The product comes with a PDF version of the assessment and scoring and an Excel scoring sheet with automatic scoring.
